Become a Mentor!!!
We are seeking caring, patient, and dedicated adult role models to serve as mentors for our RiskTakers Youth Initiative. As a mentor, you will be matched with an at-risk young person aged 16-24 and commit to regular meetings and check-ins over a period of one year.
Our ideal mentors have:
- Background check clearance -Availability for weekly 2 hour mentoring sessions
- Reliable transportation for community outings
- Active listening and interpersonal skills
- Enthusiasm for supporting young people reach goals
- Willingness to attend mentor training session
- Commitment to complete post-match surveys
- Dedication to provide encouragement and motivation
As a mentor, you will provide guidance, encouragement, and inspiration to help youth build confidence, develop interests, improve grades, avoid risky behaviors, and work towards a vision for their future. Mentoring can be an incredibly rewarding experience for both the mentor and the mentee.
